Twitter's Moderation Research Consortium
A Series On Misinformation, Disinformation and Subterfuge
In a blog post, Yoel Roth highlighted an application process that ensures a high likelihood that individuals gaining access and control over Twitter’s moderation, will again include some of the same problematic bad actors that I have currently highlighted manipulating Twitter and through that, society via malign influence campaigns.
Here is what is required.
The first individuals that comes to mind that likely fit such parameters are Renee DiResta, Peter Giesea, and Erin Gallagher. These are all front-facing individuals with research backgrounds that would be ineligible based on the likelihood they would share the consortium’s data with government or other actors, namely Yonder Inc. I would be shocked if Erin Gallagher already has been added to the “team” along with others like her that have grossly abused Twitter’s platform. The same with DiResta, whom I don’t trust due to her work with Yonder Inc. and unexplained involvement in the San Fransisco School Board Recall Op that pitted Diresta/Mensch’s group against Rocco Castoro/Doug Stewart’s team that went legally and ethically off the rails.
While I have seen no evidence that Renee did anything wrong or illegal during San Fransisco (the clear law-breaking was on Stewart/Rocco’s side), her connections, which further include Peter Thiel, make her the wrong choice to be on the consortium that she likely was already penciled in for before the announcement was made.
This retweet by Yoel Roth the day before he announced the consortium, is from Renee’s present job.
Yoel has worked with Renee rather extensively on projects while she was at Yonder, prior to the release of the company’s document on Russian election interference mid December 2019 that Renee was a co-author for.
Here was one response given to Yoel on the thread where he shared the link regarding the consortium.
That needs to happen, as Yoel is the key link between Yonder Inc and Twitter Safety, providing the tools and cover for multiple criminal operations now identified needing Federal investigation next.
Here is the best response to one of the threads between these two, DiResta and Roth at the end of the long quote tweet shown above.
That nexus is Yonder Inc, though at the time of Tony’s tweet was named New Knowledge, just then going through the trials of getting fully exposed over their work on the Birmingham Project.
The general counsel or whoever fields Musk's demands against what is legal and possible is probably eating Tums from a popcorn box
I’m sorry, did we think that Elon would IMPROVE Twitter? He bought it to run it in the ground so “Elon alone can fix it” with his X platform, which isn’t even invented yet. Some forward thinker he is. 🙄
