Susan Portnoy has been deboosted for an extensive period of time due to mass deletions of tweets, likely hundreds of legitimate reports on her abuses, massive platform manipulation and no longer benefiting from the org’s botnet for inauthentic application. Her account and others she operates with have been significantly less visible occurring well before I came on the scene.

This shadow banning policy is not a change. It is also why Susan Portnoy was a near invisible account full of mostly inauthentic and inactive followers numbering at one time near 92K.

Susan and others are not happy their trauma tech doesn’t yet work effectively on Mastodon. While she and her network have long been stuck inside a bubble of their own making, with no real reach beyond the paid single purpose hate account operators themselves, they still could carry out attacks on targets via military grade search tools combined with Twitter’s own robust search engine.

Here is more bad news for Susan.

Ranked replies based on user input is going to work out as well as twitter blue did for controlling narratives. Overt racist comments will generally gravitate to the top of the feed while non-radicalizing content and banal replies will get pushed down out of view. Newer users do not exist, nor will most people not willing to pay the Tesla God his $8 bucks to get radicalized.

Without a dedicated and expensive botnet able to outcompete the amplification and de-boosting of competitors, expert trauma trolls like Susan might not ever be seen again attempting in vain to attack and take down a thread.
