Yesterday while traveling we got this alert.
This was from an area East of Matador, TX where four people died due to a massive tornado the same day. It was likely the same thunder cell.
The sky was as dark as dusk, and even darker skies to the South. That encouraged us to push forward instead of hunkering down. There was no hail going forward, just a torrential downpour and flooding at the edge of the road. We outran the storm to clear in encumbered skies.
The tornado, which we didn’t see, that spawned from that storm was massive on TV. So was the edge of that storm. We were surely blessed to have left when we did to have missed the worst of it.
Plenty of strange storms a coming.
