It must drive him mad seeing normalcy, a family spending time together on trips, going to parties, happy children, happy wife, happy husband. That is why they are so condescending of my allowing my kids to do make-up, spreading the fun out over a couple days. That is why the Op is so incensed I would “dare” let my wife have vacations with just her friends, with the curmudgeon labeling her pictures as “thirsty,” when the man clearly is incapable of taking a drink himself.
