Oddly I was thinking about good ol’ Andrew McGimpsey this morning while driving how he after getting caught running the ‘Muscular Jew’ account MaxNordau had a possibly secondary user take over the persona, alleged to be another DeSantis secretary Bryan Griffin.
Let’s review some of the established facts why Andrew was known to have run the account, not just the body building tag and his voice.
Multiple accounts belonging to Andrew McGimpsey were removed in a sweep by Twitter including the above account and his main sock MaxNordau. Here is the announcement made by an apparent coordinator admitting that the group used alts and VPNs in their activity naming both McGimpsey accounts.
Prior to the suspension of both accounts only one other interaction between the two existed, this one of Andrew responding to his sock MaxNordau.
The minion post noting that the group of accounts was coordinating efforts to manipulate the platform is rather curious given that McGimpsey went to great lengths to keep both persona separate.
On his MaxNordau Gab account shown in the below screenshot, Andrew asks for someone to reach out to Andrew McGimpsey with that account’s post having a 26 minute timestamp on their post, and a 13 minute timestamp on the screenshot.
The entire scenario as it is set up currently, is completely illogical and ill-conceived including that the screenshot indicates there was one view only and the whole he/she given Mcgimpsey’s posts. That account likely is also Andrew’s given the October 2 introduction and limited interaction seen below in the next two posts.
Later in the day Andrew responds back with this post.
Even later, McGimpsey explains what customer support told him, that he had used multiple accounts for spam. He did.
Prior to Andrew’s use of the account name, MaxNordau was a Spanish speaking account. There was also an extensive botnet that once had some 50K accounts tied to his name, some of them seen here connected to Amcgimpsey14, Andrew McGimpsey.
Why am I bringing this up?
While MaxNordau was ran by Andrew McGimpsey, he didn’t take things so well to being unmasked given his illegal work. The account at some point may have been handed off to Bryan Griffin, a fun nod to the Family Guy character that the avatar used currently is based off.
The only way we will know if Andrew operates the account or Bryan, would be the digital record of IP connections stored internally at Twitter, yet I am confident of my identification almost two years ago of McGimpsey.
