Matt Shapiro Spreads Accidental Disinformation
A Series on Misinformation, Disinformation and Subterfuge
The rightwing Ops have been having a field day attacking Paul Pelosi who was beaten on camera with a hammer by another of Fred Brennan’s radicalized GamerGate. He was part of the far-left extreme which is interchangeable after radicalization to the far-right extreme in ideology and actions.
Matt Shapiro, who runs the PoliticalMath account demonstrates a common, perhaps unintentional, way disinformation spreads, posting a high impression thread containing verifiably false information, then not taking it down once he was called out on it.
While the impressions aren’t that big, the ‘correction’ hidden in the replies, did not result in the thread being pulled.
The reason for that being that no one was visiting it prior to his name being given up as the suspect in custody. And while I understand Shapiro leaving the Tweet Up, it would be nice to be able to slap a label up on the original tweet when an error was made and then found.
Factually, like others radicalized by Brennan’s platform 8Chan where both GamerGate and QAnon came from is a highly dangerous radicalization engine those who built, owned and operated should be legally held accountable for.
