Bad Human Behavior Amplified by Several Bad Actors
A Series on Misinformation, Disinformation and Subterfuge
Yesterday’s repeated tragedy of another mass shooting again saw the media amplify and elevate the perp to God-like status that others will no doubt look to follow and beat.
Why did so many of our Bad Actors say his name, post his picture, and amplify his cult of personality while others didn’t? I think some of that is human nature and stupidity already being accustomed to amplifying rightwing hate messaging they do so without a second thought—monkey see, monkey do. Nicole, you really SHOULD delete your retweets. Really. Same with all those socks that amplified that dude because all you are doing is prepping the next guy to do the same to see if he can score more publicity or kills than the last.
Let’s Cover this the way it should be.
Angry white male inspired by Republican/Fox pushed extremist ideology and weaponized memes, saturated his hatred within a single purpose hate network of like-minded folks on Social media, kills people, brags about it seeking others to join him with a racists manifesto.
Get it?
(Hint: Twitter social influence operatives have the same problem)
It wasn’t until the same thing happened with the El Paso mass shooting that Fred Brennan realized the Nazi-echoing chamber he created, managed and was still likely fully engaged with living in the Philippines where the servers still are at, was going to be a liability. Fred may say one thing, but his actions still deploying GamerGate strategies and using sock accounts to target people indicate he is still Fred, a fugitive of justice.
This one itself isn’t on Fred or any of the extremists so far featured on my articles as these GamerGate2.0 perps try to get other people to kill themselves, which is harder criminal work needed to be stopped BEFORE they wrack up higher body counts with their militarized weaponized memes.
Can anyone explain what the hell is wrong with Mike Rothschild’s brain?
Jim Stewartson, unlike Mike, covered what needed to be without glorifying the shooter or pointing people towards the manifesto. That is what experts in extremism like Jim do. Mike’s first tweet was fine. His second downplaying weaponized memes as a jokes is problematic. The third is classic Mike disinformation muling, outright lying. Jim covered the ideology succinctly and didn’t amplify the shooter or linked to the screed.
Mike himself repeatedly told everybody that the shooter left a manifesto, so what is Mike’s purpose here? And why does Mike call weaponized extremist memes jokes? Is that because Mike frequently has used suicide suggestive phrasing and memes himself trying to harm or kill people just like in the manifesto? Same damnable behavior Mike. Same.
Weaponized memes that are inside-jokes, are just pathetic attempts to harm people Mike. You are normalizing that part of the shooter’s manifesto, because that behavior is YOUR behavior.
People need to know this normal white guy without naming him, without showing the panic, without elevating him, embraced extremist ideology, went on a rampage and left a guidebook.
That is what Jim did. Mike, who spreads weaponized memes and psychological mental health association Gamer Gate attacks, not so much.
