A month ago one of those most egregious spreaders of disinformation was kicked off of Twitter, refusing to delete hate speech directed at a trans woman.
That tweet had been deleted according to reports weeks ago. Today Russian propagandist and conspiracy theorist that his own lawyers argued no one would credibly believe, Tucker coinciding with Elon Musk’s accepted takeover bid of Twitter, tweeted. Seems like he knew, waited, and essentially gaslight everyone.
From a business sense, selling a depreciating asset like Twitter to Elon is the right move. But for safety, content moderation and slowing the spread of disinformation, things are likely to get worse for everyone.
Twitter was gone anyway, essentially 8Chan with Matt Donovan and Fredrick style GamerGate2.0 extremism, Russian disinformation, and botnets running amok. While it’s probable the platform will nosedive in popularity, it will survive until a viable safer alternative is widely adopted. I do however appreciate one thing Musk has said he will do, if he actually does it, verify all humans. Susan and her fellow conspirator0 having caused much damage have much to say about that possibility.
Susan, a woman who used a picture of another woman and that woman’s daughter, deceiving many into thinking that it was her, then engaged in a multiyear campaign of criminal level trolling, isn’t likely to be leaving Twitter because of a policy change. Instead Sue should consider heeding her own advice, given to a target during one of her campaigns.
This gem from another one of Gamegate's victims: "4/ Just to be clear? During Gamergate, we meticulously documented Brennan’s crimes. I still have this information, and would be delighted to share it with any concerned authority.
Maybe now that people are being killed (which we predicted) the
@fbi will take this more seriously."

Yet this group of self-styled "disinformation experts" still opts to downplay Fredrick Brennan's complicity in Gamergate. It tells me that any (supposed) concern about online misogyny and abuse on their part comes from a place of bad faith.
I hope you're watching Maddow tonight. She's covering all this shite.
