A Series on Misinformation, Disinformation and Subterfuge
Twitter is a cesspool of disinformation, misinformation and Mal-information loaded with malicious bad actors like Remi Barrette’s conspirator0, the Tango band musician and disinformation specialist that churns out conspiracies, bots and lies.
This one is confusing, and a clear example of how Twitter will look like going forward.
The audio clip feels sketchy, meant to push back on a conspiracy that Elon Musk has pushed regarding FTX funding the Democrats, and therefore money laundering. It is authentic, however, due to the nature of Twitter and the absurdity of how this all transpired then pushed to the mainstream media, its harder to sift through the minor distortions given upon retelling.

Yet he was citing this account.
Of course that one on a phone in a screenshot looks like the Speaker of the House. It isn’t. They are just one of the many inauthentic accounts that forked over 8 bucks to the slum lord of Digital real estate, Elon Musk.
Yet they have near a quarter million followers, minted just last June.
Next I went to the original source, an indy journalist that somehow managed a huge interview despite not being attached to a outlet.
Fong is also subscribed to Twitter Blue that isn’t the same as verification, making me and likely others dismissive. She is at least clarifying that Sam didn’t state an exact number, meaning the amplifiers that connected to the story are intentionally spreading minor misinformation.
From the Guardian that part is clarified.
Twitter is going to get even less reliable over time for news given Twitter Blue and the penchant of imposter accounts made far easier. While this interview is real, things around it don’t quite fit.
