Before You Retweet, Beware of Possible Mal-Information
A Series on Misinformation, Disinformation and Subterfuge
Updated to add further information at the bottom.
Misinformation, disinformation and Mal-information spread pretty quickly, such as the viral 4Chan LBGQT smear falsely identifying the most recent shooter as a transitioned female making its way to prominent amplifier and disinformation mules like Candice Owens.
Here is one example of a possible piece of misinformation presently going viral on twitter, amplified and pushed out as possible Mal-Information that if what is said isn’t true, the rightwing are going to have a heyday with, blunting the whole entire gun control citing this viral potentially fake thread.
This thread, being amplified by prominent disinformation account SpiralDee has such an emotional impact that MOST people are going to build impressions as most people that read it are going to want to deck the guy that may not even exist for daring to threaten someone grieving.
The story is likely fake.
While I was thinking of what sort of searches I needed to do on the account to try to prove or disprove that this guy was even in Texas, this popped up showing someone had beaten me to it.
While it is possible the man is telling the truth, it’s doubtful that anyone would dare approach a grieving adult after a loss of a child, offer money in a quid pro quo and then threaten to make that person disappear.
But could it be true? Well yeah, but questions always will be asked when things don’t make sense especially coming from a masked account.
I’ll correct this if this story is proven true.
Update at 8:06, story is definitely not true.
At least three weeks, but more likely several months to be discharged from the hospital after a liver transplant as per my RN-BSN wife.
